The plot, you ask? “After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Mutant Mayhem will be unleashed in theaters on August 4, 2023, and this first trailer gives us a good idea of the art style and overall tone of Rogen’s take on the material. The brand new animated TMNT movie from producer Seth Rogen is titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and the official teaser trailer has arrived this morning. Each film centers on “Death” hunting down young friends who survive a mass casualty event. This will be the sixth installment in the hit franchise, and the first in over ten years. Producers on the new movie for New Line Cinema also include Dianne McGunigle ( Cop Car) as well as Final Destination producers Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor. Stay tuned for more on Final Destination 6 as we learn it. “I’m really excited with the story that I can’t tell you about,” Reddick laughs. Reddick teases, “I will say that it’s not just going to be another kind of ‘we set up a group of people, they cheat death, and then just death gets them.’ And there’s one wrinkle that we kind of added to every movie to kind of like change it up a little bit: this one is… a true Final Destination movie, but it doesn’t follow that kind of formula that we’ve kind of established.” Speaking with Dread Central (via Fangoria), Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick teases what we can expect, notably suggesting the new movie will change up the classic formula. Watts is producing the sixth installment of the franchise for HBO Max, with Lori Evans Taylor (“Wicked Wicked Games”) and Guy Busick ( Scream 2021) writing Final Destination 6. As we recently learned, the Final Destination franchise is being retooled with a brand new movie, with Jon Watts ( Clown, Cop Car, Spider-Man: No Way Home) on board as producer.
